It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Columbia ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top against the Wellington Dukes by a score of 7-3. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Dukes recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ryan Smith and Logan Menge were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Smith tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Menge didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. At bat, Smith scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Menge got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Duley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Columbia's record now sits at 4-2. As for Wellington, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Columbia will challenge Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wellington, they will face off against Firelands at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
