Basketball Recap: Lanphier Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lanphier extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 11-17. They took down the Decatur Eisenhower Panthers 64-49. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 72-42 last Thursday.

As for Decatur Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-23. On the bright side, the 49- point effort marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the loss, Decatur Eisenhower had strong showings from KeShia Adger, who went 6-for-8 en route to 14 points, and Jakyia Sutton, who shot 42% from the field on her way to 11 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Sutton has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Brianna Johnson was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 10 points and three steals.

Coming up, Lanphier will square off against Taylorville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will be up against the Tornadoes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Decatur Eisenhower, they have already played their next game, a 64-38 defeat against Mt. Pulaski on the 12th.
