Bergen Catholic dropped their record down to 15-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Poly Prep Country Day Blue Devils. If the Crusaders were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Poly Prep Country Day, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games.

For Poly Prep Country Day's part, Justice De Jong spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. De Jong has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

As for Poly Prep Country Day, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hun at 4:30 p.m. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
