Soccer Game Preview: Marietta vs. Creekview

The Marietta Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Creekview Grizzlies at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marietta has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight defeats, while Creekview will come in with four straight wins.

On Friday, Marietta came up short against Atlanta International and fell 3-1.

Marietta's goal came courtesy of Rachel Barrau, who's now up to seven this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Creekview and Sequoyah meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. Creekview had just enough and edged out Sequoyah 2-1. That's two games straight that Creekview have won by just one goal.

Creekview's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for Marietta, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Marietta suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Creekview in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Marietta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
