Basketball Recap: Eden Prairie Takes a Loss

Eden Prairie lost against Hopkins back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eden Prairie Eagles fell 74-64 to the Hopkins Royals. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Royals are ranked first).

Eden Prairie has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Hopkins, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.

Eden Prairie will host Wayzata at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Eden Prairie's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Hopkins, they will head out on the road to take on Edina at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopkins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 games -- so hopefully Edina likes a good challenge.
