Football Game Preview: Southampton/Pierson vs. Center Moriches

Center Moriches have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Southampton/Pierson at 6:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.

Center Moriches got themselves on the board against Hampton Bays last Saturday, but Hampton Bays never followed suit. Center Moriches blew past Hampton Bays 33-0. The success represented a nice turnaround for Center Moriches, who in their last game suffered a tough 12-41 loss.

Meanwhile, Southampton/Pierson were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 23-28 to Greenport-Southold-Mattituck. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Southampton/Pierson.

Center Moriches's win lifted them to 2-2 while Southampton/Pierson's defeat dropped them down to 1-3. We'll find out if Center Moriches can add another positive mark to their record or if Southampton/Pierson can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Center Moriches's step.
