Softball Recap: Hatley Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Hatley entered their tilt with Hamilton on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hamilton Lions a 4-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Ashlynn Dabbs, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Hamilton off the board. Dabbs has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emily Hill was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Coffey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Hatley pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, they moved to 5-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Hatley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hamilton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
