Football Recap: Phalen Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

Phalen Leadership Academy extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were outmatched by the Hammond Morton Governors and fell 62-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Governors are ranked 133rd).

As for Hammond Morton, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Hammond Morton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anton Mathis out in front who picked up 95 receiving yards and two TDs. Mathis showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 62 yards. Ameer Daniels got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Phalen Leadership Academy will host Grand Valley Christian P at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hammond Morton, they will head out to take on Calumet Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
