Football Game Preview: Florala Wildcats vs. Elba Tigers + How To Watch

Florala is 0-5 against Elba since September of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Florala will be strutting in after a victory while Elba will be coming in after a loss.

Florala is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 55-8 win over Red Level. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wildcats with their most commanding win of the season.

Greyson West continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 139 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 61 yards and one TD. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards. Another player making a difference was Gage Davis, who threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Florala, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Nikko Bradberry, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from West.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Elba challenged Georgiana on Friday. The Tigers took a 33-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Florala's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 8.13 yards per carry in those games compared to only 0.5 in the others. As for Elba, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Florala lost to Elba at home by a decisive 40-24 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Alvin Henderson (who rushed for 199 yards and four scores while picking up 7.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
