Football Recap: Greene County Finds Home Field Redemption Against Gautier + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Greene County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-21 victory over the Gautier Gators on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gage Stinson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 144 yards and one TD on only 13 passes, while also rushing for 35 yards. Those 35 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keon McNeil, who threw for 260 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score. A'shaun Tubbs was McNeil's top target, picking up 90 receiving yards and one score.

Greene County's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Gautier, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Greene County and Gautier will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wildcats are set to take on their familiar foe Pass Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Gautier will face off against rival Long Beach at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
