Softball Game Preview: Bacon Academy Bobcats vs. Norwich RVT Warriors

The Bacon Academy Bobcats will square off against the Norwich RVT Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Bacon Academy barely beat Wheeler the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 10-1 win on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bobcats have posted against the Lions since May 11, 2018.

Riley Stolzman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Reina Hill was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Russo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Norwich RVT was able to grind out a solid win over Windham RVT on Wednesday, taking the game 10-7.

Norwich RVT now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bacon Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Bacon Academy's way against Norwich RVT in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Bacon Academy made off with a 16-1 win. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
