Basketball Recap: Vancleave Takes a Loss

Vancleave was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stone Tomcats. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-50 on Saturday.

Stone got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Scarbrough out in front who posted 20 points along with five boards and four steals. Scarbrough's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Deandre Smith was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Vancleave's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Stone, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Stone beat Vancleave by a score of 76-39 on Tuesday.
