Baseball Recap: Riverside Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

Riverside won the last time they faced Mohawk Area and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers blew past the Warriors 8-2. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Christian Lucarelli made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, Sean Hayes was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. Dylan Meyer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Riverside's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Mohawk Area, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Riverside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
