Soccer Recap: East Union Extends Winning Streak to Three

East Union's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged the Manteca Buffaloes out 1-0. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 1026th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Union's one-goal win came courtesy of Carlos Heredia, who's now up to five this season.

The win was the third in a row for East Union, bringing their record for this year to 13-4-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Manteca, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18-3 record this season.
