Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

If Jefferson was feeling good fresh off their 14-8 takedown of Harleton on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jefferson Bulldogs came up short against the Hooks Hornets on Saturday, falling 12-2. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in February of 2017.

Maddie Cooner was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Hooks, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

The future could be bright for both Jefferson and Hooks: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Jefferson will look to extend Center's four-game losing streak when they meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Hooks will try to hand Beckville their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 2:50 p.m. on Saturday.
