Football Game Preview: St. David's Warriors vs. John Paul II Catholic Saints

The St. David's Warriors will face off against the John Paul II Catholic Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. David's has given up an average of 32.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. David's is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Cary Christian, who was ranked second at the time (St. David's was ranked tenth). The Warriors took a blow against the Knights on Friday, falling 54-19. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, John Paul II Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Arendell Parrott Academy on Friday and fell 26-23.

St. David's will have to contain Crisean Williams as he made an impact in John Paul II Catholic's last game. He rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown. Williams also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

John Paul II Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Nyrique Beale.

John Paul II Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for St. David's, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
