Baseball Recap: Waterford-Halfmoon Takes a Loss

Waterford-Halfmoon had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it seven. They came up short against the Saratoga Central Catholic Saints, falling 15-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fordians of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Saratoga Central Catholic, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.3 runs this season.

For Saratoga Central Catholic's part, Ronan Rowe was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ryan Gillis, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

While Waterford-Halfmoon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
