Softball Recap: Miramonte Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

It's playoff time, and Miramonte had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the South Fork Cubs by a score of 7-2 on Saturday.

Abby Warren made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gianna Granzella was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Lucy Daoust was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Miramonte is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for South Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.

Looking ahead, Miramonte will head out to square off against McKinleyville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
