Baseball Game Preview: Whitmer Panthers vs. Fairview Eagles

The Whitmer Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Fairview Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Whitmer got the win against Fairview by a conclusive 15-4. The matchup marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Mason Huston looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Remmi Ruetz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Isreal Rickner was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Whitmer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairview only posted an OBP of .318.

Whitmer's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Fairview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
