Basketball Recap: Kayra Hulin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Davidson over Leadership Academy

South Davidson saw some tournament action on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 57-43 to the Leadership Academy Falcons. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayra Hulin, who posted 16 points. That was a full 37.2% of South Davidson's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Anna Smith, who put up 14 points.

Ali Faenza was a one-woman wrecking crew for Leadership Academy as she had 23 points. Faenza is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leah Burleyson, who posted 12 points and eight assists.

South Davidson's record is now 3-8. As for Leadership Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.

South Davidson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-36 victory against River Mill on the 28th. As for Leadership Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-27 defeat against Providence Grove on the 28th.
