The Hesperia Scorpions will square off against the Crossroads Roadrunners at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Crossroads took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hesperia, who comes in off a win.
Hesperia will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Eastside last Tuesday. The Scorpions were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Lions. The result was nothing new for the Scorpions, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Dru Lona made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Brenden Ozaki looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
