Basketball Recap: North Lenoir Gets the Win

North Lenoir won the last time they faced South Lenoir, and Cassidee Fraser did her part to make sure it happened again. The North Lenoir Hawks secured a 35-31 W over the South Lenoir Blue Devils on Tuesday thanks in part to Fraser, who posted 13 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Kennedi Starkie was another key player, putting up three points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those three steals gave her a new career-high.

South Lenoir lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lily Cole, who put up five points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Herring, who earned eight points and five rebounds.

North Lenoir's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for South Lenoir, they dropped their record down to 2-20 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

North Lenoir has already played their next match, a 41-38 defeat against Greene Central on the 12th. As for South Lenoir, they will face off against Kinston at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
