Baseball Recap: Lower Lake Comes Up Short

Lower Lake had lost eight straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-17-1 to make it nine. They lost 11-1 to the Cloverdale Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Cloverdale, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-11. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Cloverdale's part, Coby Haug was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave Haug a new career-high. Austin Axell was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

While Lower Lake had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
