Football Recap: Southwest EC Comes Up Short on the Road Against Canyon Springs

Southwest EC had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Canyon Springs Cougars, falling 49-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Leading Canyon Springs to victory were Andre Larry and Angel Robles. Larry rushed for 77 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, while Robles threw for 190 yards and two TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Larry also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making one tackle.

Southwest EC wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 20-0 loss against Calexico on the 29th. As for Canyon Springs, they have also already played their next game, a 35-14 win against Fallbrook on the 29th.
