Baseball Recap: Sherman Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Charleston, Sherman was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Hannan Wildcats 18-2. The victory continues a trend for the Tide in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Sherman got a massive performance out of Chase Southern, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Oliver Harless was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Sherman's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Hannan, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Sherman has already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Man on the 24th. As for Hannan, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Hannan Wildcats duke it out with Lincoln County Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
