Annapolis had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They blew past the Thurston Eagles 17-1. 17 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Robert Armstrong made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Barc, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). James Harris was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Annapolis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thurston only posted an OBP of .200.

Annapolis' record is now 11-8. As for Thurston, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Annapolis will take on Ypsilanti at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Thurston, they will face off against Renaissance at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
