Basketball Game Preview: Chicago Mathematics & Science vs. Chicago Marshall Commandos

Chicago Mathematics & Science will face off against the Chicago Marshall Commandos at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Chicago Mathematics & Science has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row dating back to last season, Chicago Mathematics & Science turned things around against North Grand on Wednesday. They snuck past the Eagle Owls with a 27-21 win. Chicago Mathematics & Science's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Chicago Marshall had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They took down the Panthers 37-22.

Chicago Mathematics & Science better focus on containing Anabel Robinson and Janiyah Green as the pair were huge in Chicago Marshall's win. Robinson dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Green posted seven points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Green has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.

Chicago Marshall's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30 points. As for Chicago Mathematics & Science, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Chicago Mathematics & Science strolled past Chicago Marshall in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 43-25. Will Chicago Mathematics & Science repeat their success, or does Chicago Marshall have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
