Basketball Game Preview: Woodsville Engineers vs. Groveton Eagles

Woodsville and Groveton are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Woodsville Engineers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Groveton Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Wednesday, Woodsville took their matchup with ease, bagging a 53-13 victory over Profile. The Engineers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Groveton entered their tilt with Lisbon on Wednesday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They blew past the Panthers, posting a 66-13 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Panthers are ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Groveton's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Woodsville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
