Basketball Recap: Washington School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

Washington School for the Deaf was the 48-44 winner over Oakville when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Washington School for the Deaf Terriers were dealt a 71-30 loss at the hands of the Oakville Acorns on Monday. The Terriers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Terriers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Yerkes, who posted 17 points along with six boards and four steals. That was a full 56.7% of Washington School for the Deaf's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dimas Zepeda, who earned six points and four steals.

Washington School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Oakville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Washington School for the Deaf has already played their next game, a 55-9 victory against Firm Foundation Christian on the 14th. As for Oakville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-48 win against Three Rivers Christian on the 14th.
