Soccer Game Preview: Lompoc vs. Santa Ynez

The Lompoc Braves will head out on the road to square off against the Santa Ynez Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lompoc's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Friday, Lompoc came up short against Atascadero and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2024, Santa Ynez was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. They and St. Joseph finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw.

Vince Guerrero and Marcos Rivera scored all three of Santa Ynez's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

With that draw, Santa Ynez's record moves to 3-9-2. As for Lompoc, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-3.

Lompoc came out on top in a nail-biter against Santa Ynez when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lompoc since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
