Softball Game Preview: Perry Ramblers vs. Carson City-Crystal Eagles

The Perry Ramblers will challenge the Carson City-Crystal Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Perry's offense. They came up short against Dansville on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Ramblers were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Carson City-Crystal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 15-2 to All Saints Central.

Carson City-Crystal saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Byrnes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Byrnes is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Perry now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Carson City-Crystal, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Everything went Perry's way against Carson City-Crystal in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Perry made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Ramblers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
