After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Susquehanna Township, South Western was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Dover Eagles 45-13. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Leading South Western to victory were Wyatt Carbaugh and Anthony Frazier. Carbaugh rushed for 73 yards and two scores on only seven carries, while Frazier rushed for 95 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Those 95 rushing yards gave Frazier a new career-high. Jacob Graham did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 94 receiving yards.
South Western didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Blake McMillion and Brooklyn Calcutt. Calcutt got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The victory got South Western back to even at 1-1. As for Dover, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Coming up, South Western will welcome New Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dover, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Conestoga Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
