Baseball Recap: Fort Calhoun Beats Wahoo/Bishop Neumann for Their Fifth Straight Win

Fort Calhoun hadn't done well against Wahoo/Bishop Neumann recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Pioneers came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 10-6. Winning may never get old, but the Pioneers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Levi Lasher tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chase Premer, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Chase Bierman was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Fort Calhoun always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wahoo/Bishop Neumann only posted an OBP of .231.

Fort Calhoun pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wahoo/Bishop Neumann, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
