Volleyball Recap: Johnstown Takes a Loss

Johnstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mekeel Christian Academy Lions.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-6, 23-25, 25-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mekeel Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bria Salvo, who had five digs and two blocks. Salvo is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 18 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Macie Dell, who had 12 kills, eight digs, and two blocks.

Johnstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-2. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-4-4.

Coming up, Johnstown is taking a road trip to challenge Amsterdam at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
