Baseball Game Preview: Muncie Burris Owls vs. Union Rockets

The Muncie Burris Owls will take on the Union Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Muncie Burris will be strutting in after a win while Union will be coming in after a loss.

Muncie Burris is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Anderson Prep Academy 16-6 on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Solomon Muliiira, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. Cameron Milleman was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Muncie Burris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Union was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Cambridge City Lincoln, falling 18-2.

Muncie Burris has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Muncie Burris took their win against Union when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 35-4 score. Will the Owls repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
