Preview: Wooster Generals vs. Orrville Red Riders
Wooster is 9-1 against Orrville since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Wooster Generals will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Orrville Red Riders at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Wooster is ranked 552nd, while Orrville is ranked 538th).
Last Friday, Wooster came up short against Mansfield Senior and fell 66-53. Wooster has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brady Bowen put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anthony Sines, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Orrville pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-59 to Northwest. Orrville's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Wooster's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Orrville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Wooster was able to grind out a solid win over Orrville when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 74-67. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wooster since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
