Model will venture away from home to square off against Lincoln County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Model is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

Model came out on top against Shelby County on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Patriots took their contest against the Rockets 14-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Kendall Maggard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and seven unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Rylli Hunt and Aliyah Wever did most of the damage at the plate: Hunt went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Wever went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Hunt has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maddie Cain, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Model was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shelby County only posted a batting average of .258.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County came up short against Somerset on Thursday and fell 6-2. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Model, their record now sits at 15-5.

Model couldn't quite finish off Lincoln County in their previous meeting back in April and fell 7-5. Can Model avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
