Preview: Gooding Senators vs. Kimberly Bulldogs
The Gooding Senators will head out on the road to face off against the Kimberly Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gooding is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Gooding came up short against Wood River and fell 20-13.
Gooding's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Butch Morris, who picked up 124 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Porter Whiting who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Whiting was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
Even if they lost, Gooding's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Morris and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Kimberly put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They strolled past Buhl with points to spare, taking the game 36-19.
Kimberly's win bumped their season record to 8-0 while Gooding's loss dropped theirs to 2-6.
Gooding suffered a grim 36-14 defeat to Kimberly in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Gooding avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
