Volleyball Recap: Central Valley Takes a Loss

Central Valley was the 3-0 winner over River Islands when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks came up short against the Riptide on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-15.

MariaJose Castenada paced Central Valley's offense, picking up four kills. Castenada got some help from Gabriela Delatorre and her six assists. Sofia Garibay controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for River Islands, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Central Valley will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Delhi at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for River Islands, they will square off against Riverbank at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
