Softball Recap: Heritage Victorious

Heritage took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Apex Friendship, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Heritage sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over Apex Friendship on Friday. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 12-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Heritage got a massive performance out of Remy Kruse, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. What's more, Kruse posted two runs, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Janiah Vargas also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Kruse wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. Heritage is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Heritage now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Apex Friendship, they moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Heritage has already played their next matchup, an 11-10 victory against Millbrook on the 18th. As for Apex Friendship, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-3 win against Green Hope on the 18th.
