Baseball Recap: Ravenscroft's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Ravenscroft can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the St. David's Warriors as the Ravenscroft Ravens made off with a 21-3 victory. With that win, the Ravens brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Ethan Wagnon looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Matthew Hutter was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matt Ulicny, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Ravenscroft always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Ravenscroft wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-1 win against Wake Christian Academy on the 14th. As for St. David's, they will venture away from home to take on Arendell Parrott Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arendell Parrott Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so St. David's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
