Basketball Game Preview: Niagara Falls Wolverines vs. Canisius Crusaders

The Niagara Falls Wolverines will head out to challenge the Canisius Crusaders at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Niagara Falls is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Niagara Falls is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 9, 2023 on Saturday. They came up short against Rome Free Academy, falling 71-51. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Black Knights are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Canisius came up short against Belen Jesuit on Sunday and fell 70-60.

Canisius' defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Niagara Falls, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-4.

Niagara Falls came up short against Canisius in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 52-44. Can Niagara Falls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
