Volleyball Recap: McKinley Takes a Loss

McKinley was the 3-0 winner over Mathews when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Dragons came up short against the Mustangs on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mathews scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 25-23.

McKinley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Mathews, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. McKinley will venture away from home to face off against East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mathews, after both having extra time off, they and Heartland Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
