Baseball Recap: Starkville Comes Up Short

Starkville managed to slip by Tupelo the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Yellowjackets lost 14-3 to the Golden Wave on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered since March 10th.

Starkville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Hendrix, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Starkville's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Tupelo, their record now sits at 12-9.

Looking ahead, Starkville will welcome West Point at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tupelo, they will square off against Itawamba Agricultural at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
