Basketball Recap: Burlington Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Burlington Christian Academy was the 81-71 winner over The Burlington School when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Burlington Christian Academy Royals were outmatched by The Burlington School Spartans and fell 70-41. The Royals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-12.

The Burlington School was led to victory by Kaden Hammond and Drew Johnson. Hammond dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards, while Johnson went 8 of 13 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. Hammond is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cam Flippen, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Burlington Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for The Burlington School, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Burlington Christian Academy will face off against Eastern Alamance at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for The Burlington School, they will head out to challenge Cristo Rey Research Triangle at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th.
