Softball Recap: Canyon View Comes Up Short

Canyon View dropped their record down to 6-16 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Cedar Reds. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Falcons haven't been shut out since back in March.

As for Cedar, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Cedar's part, Sadie Parson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Parson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hayley Ennis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kate Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Canyon View will be playing at home against Juab at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons are facing the Wasps at the right time seeing as the Wasps are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Cedar, they are taking a road trip to square off against American Fork at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
