Baseball Recap: Keota's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Keota hadn't done well against Webbers Falls recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Keota Lions walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Webbers Falls Warriors. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Riggin Buchanan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Buchanan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kalib West, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Kannon Mooneyham was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Keota's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Webbers Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keota will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Arkoma at 5:30 p.m. on March 24th. As for Webbers Falls, they will host Porum at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be Porum's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
