Baseball Game Preview: Sage Hill Lightning vs. Northwood Timberwolves

Sage Hill hasn't had much luck against Northwood recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lightning will head out to challenge the Timberwolves at 3:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Sage Hill's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Irvine on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Lightning have lost by exactly four runs.

Meanwhile, Northwood narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past University 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.

Northwood's victory bumped their record up to 11-14-1. As for Sage Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Sage Hill couldn't quite get it done against Northwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Lightning avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
