Basketball Recap: Lima Central Catholic's Win Ends 12-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Spencerville, Lima Central Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Monday. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 42-40 win over the Cardinal Stritch Cardinals. The Thunderbirds' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sydney Miller, who went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points and six steals. Miller has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Makayla (KK) Miltz, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Lima Central Catholic's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. As for Cardinal Stritch, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Lima Central Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Ada at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th. As for Cardinal Stritch, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-21 defeat against Toledo Christian on the 3rd.
