Football Recap: Cameron White Key Part of Team Effort in Warhawks Win

Bloomfield gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They skirted past the Northwest Catholic Lions 16-14. The Warhawks haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Bloomfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron White out in front who rushed for 102 yards on only nine carries. Those 102 rushing yards gave White a new career-high. Lamont Applewhite was another key pass catcher, picking up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bloomfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 207 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 207 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Bloomfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zion Banton and Vernon Kelly Jr.

Bloomfield's record is now 4-2. As for Northwest Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Looking ahead, Bloomfield will head out on the road to square off against East Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Warhawks will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Northwest Catholic, they will be playing at home against Avon at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
